What does the Resurrection mean to you?

Whatever your affiliation and whatever path you have chosen in your life you must at least look at the Resurrection. As a child I spent many hours within the stainglass cathedral of a Lutheran church. I saw slides of pictures of Jesus healing people, walking on water, delivering many from their sicknesses.

The resurrection of Jesus is the only reason there is the Christian Faith. Without it we have nothing. If Jesus hadn't been raised we would have no hope. We would all be destined to die and go to hell. Hell was never made for man but for the devil. It is faith that saves us. It takes faith to believe. When you have no faith then death is the only alternative. Other religions only give you doctrines, laws, a system to try to make you better but they don't offer a savior.

As I grew up, I failed to relate to those early years going to church. I thought I was a Christian. I wasn't told that I needed to receive or accept Jesus into my heart. But after coming to Jesus at the age of 18 at a Billy Graham crusade in Phoenix, I began a journey of knowing the Lord. I was challenged along with a friend of mine, Nena, to come to some Christian meetings held on campus at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. What I found there was a group of very friendly, almost intoxicating young people that were excited to be Christians. I couldn't figure it out then but just went to the Campus Life meetings from time to time.

Then someone said to me that I could go to a leadership conference in California because it was a paid trip. I couldn't believe that anyone would do that for me. While there I learned to share my faith using little booklets called the "Four Spiritual Law Books" and shared this with my relatives one Sunday when they drove up to Arrowhead Springs from Riverside, California to see me and visit with me.

While riding back from Lake Arrowhead in the mountains with my relatives, I heard in my innermost being a voice I believed was the Lord saying that I should pray about the asthma condition I had had for years. The moment I gave it to the Lord, the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit came upon me. Now imagine this if you can. I was sitting in the backseat of an automobile traveling on a four-lane highway. Suddenly, I felt an electrical tingling run from the top of my head and down through my arms and hands. Then I said that "what I say isn't me saying it but the Lord". I didn't understand then that the Lord had healed me and spoke through me to my relatives in a prophetic manner. I couldn't tell what I said except the words were personal for each one in the car. My aunt was driving and my grandmother was in the frontseat and no one looked back but listened intently.

That was an experience I will never forget but since then I have tried to keep my heart clean and listen to the voice of my Lord by His Spirit as He would lead me. Sometimes it would be to go and pray for someone that needed healing, expound on the Word, sing a new song that He gave me or just serve wherever He needed help.

This was when my life was resurrected from death and sin to life and the gift of the Holy Spirit was give to me. My life has never been the same since. I have never even gone back to what I was before...cold, selfish, egocentric and boring. Now my life is exciting and full of surprises. The Lord has been very good to me and has protected me under His wings.

The one prayer that I am still praying is that all four of my sons would receive the Lord and be filled to overflowing with His Spirit so that they too can experience life, purpose and direction and would bring others into the Kingdom of God.

  1. I couldn't find any Inauggural Address. I won't be at the White Throne Judgment because I am not lost. Only the lost will go the White Throne Judgment..I see a face of an alien on your site which I believe are part of the 1/3 of the angels that followed Satan and were kicked out of heaven. God is in the third heaven and Satan still dwells in the first and second heaven.
