I watched the service last night on TV. It had been telecast here in Australia the following evening for those who didn't sit up at 3am to watch it live.
I found it to be an extremely moving service and who wouldn't be touched by what was said and seen?
I've not really followed his life, although I enjoyed his music, and learnt things I didn't know about him last night.
Thanks for putting this together - it is really well done.
The war had begun and it was given the operation name “Desert Storm”. My son Steven was in the marines and already had traveled to the Philippines, Germany and then he was sent to Saudi Arabia where he and several other marines would push through to Kuwait. His responsibility was to defuse land mines placed in the desert floor by the enemy. When you have no faith then death is the only alternative. Other religions only give you doctrines, laws, a system to try to make you better but they don't offer a savior. As I grew up, I failed to relate to those early years going to church. I thought I was a Christian. I wasn't told that I needed to receive or accept Jesus into my heart. But after coming to Jesus at the ag...
