Photobucket Album This was done last week on Photobucket. Because I don't have much more room on the site I will be making future slide shows and remixes on Slide.com. I know I can make some special remixes for my family and for Christmas there.

New Remix - Pictures and Music

I haven't posted anything in a long time because I've been on my space mostly. I recently joined a group called Baby Boomer Divas and will be going to their retreat in April. It should be fun. The following is a compilation of pictures that I put together on Photobucket. I may have to get their membership soon because I've been using a lot of their neat tricks to make a movie. Slide.com is another place you can put pictures and music together and I think the next big project will be made there. I want to make a Christmas one and include pictures of the family and friends. This was a little project I did just for fun. I am working on another one, a little longer and with more explanations. I will post that one soon. I hope you can all enjoy the little show. You must think that I don't really do a whole lot during the day. At work I make several phone calls to obtain information but after that there isn't that much that ties up my time.

An Angel Dancing

On a mission trip to Puerto Rico, a youth group were around a campfire praising the Lord and suddenly one of the group saw an angel at the fire..then another took a 15 sec clip of the angel dancing at the bonfire. If you don't believe in angels...then you might change your mind. If you want more information about angels go to Extreme Prophetic on line. Your questions will be answered.

Teaching Piano and Online courses

Image
I've been teaching piano for over 20 years to children ages 6 and up to adults. One of the most frustrating things I've found is that most of them don't want to practice. They're either distracted by other more tantalizing things like sports or tv or video games or friends just want them to come out and play. The adults have a hard time finding time. My answer to this quandry is make the time and make the choice to practice or don't play at all. "Practice makes perfect" I tell my students and it's true. Like anything in life, whether sports, cooking, playing an instrument or painting a picture or making anything it takes practice to make it right. I found that when I play for two or three hours I am more inspired to write songs or music. When there is plenty of time on my hands I find it useful to write or spend the time doing those things that need to get done. I have a box of music sitting on a table and several songs I'll try to incorporate into...

Learn to Play Piano Online....

If you'll press my title "Learn to Play Piano Online" the Hear and Play site will come up. If you really are interested in improving or just beginning to play piano go there. I recently became an affiliate to Hear and Play because I wanted to get more music education in the areas of theory and they have courses in piano and drums. They said that if I signed up as an affiliate that I could receive income from anyone that goes to their site so I said sure. That sounded great. It was free to sign up. There is no obligation. I don't really have a whole lot of time at work I can spend on the free course they offered right now because my home computer is down but that's ok. I still can take the time at lunch. There are a lot of programs out there that allow you to sign up for free. All you have to do is offer a website so they can put their banner or advertiser. In the near future I will be notating my music that has been written over the past 40years. As a worship lead...

After moving what?

I moved out of the house in Vanderwagen, NM I’d been in for over six years and that was in June. I was expected to be out by July 1st. The family that was going to move in changed their minds and now he wondered if I wanted to move back? I said of course not. At my age I shouldn’t be moving any more. He said things just changed for him. That sure did sting. Knowing I could have stayed in the house I loved and even painted and made look really nice and then they changed their minds. So I’ve already moved into the newer house. Even though the water isn’t that good and I can’t grow as much grass there, it’s still a better constructed house. Actually it is a mobile home but on a foundation. I am too tired still and don’t want to leave for a long time yet. I will try to put in a garden next year if I can that is. The landlord seems pretty concerned that we don’t use too much of the water. Guess I’ll be doing some xeriscape kind of landscaping. I want to put in a patio out there and a few tr...

A Big Move...

Image
May 29, 2007 Sorry that I haven't been in contact with my friends on my space or blogger. I was given a Notice to Vacate my home where I have been living for over six years. My landlord, who hasn't been in contact with me for 6 or 7 months issued the notice. Her daughter is moving in July 1, 2007. I tried getting in touch with my landlord but got her daughter's number. Then my landlord called and said she was sorry for doing this. That was Saturday morning, 5/26 A red pickup came by and a man handed me an envelope. I was just watering the beautiful green lawn and planting my flowers when he showed up. Sunday, I went to church, lead worship and the church prayed for me to find a home. Monday came around and with a tip from a salesman at a nearby gas station I went over to a vacant house a mile away. Praise the Lord. I will be moving in two weeks time. The house is the same size as mine with one large room in front..,living, kitchen, two bedrooms, etc and fenced area for my t...

THEY'RE BACK!!!!

Image
They're back!!!. My hummingbirds started coming back to the feeder last week. There's one that I call "noisy" because he makes a clicking sound. He's the male of the species and then the female comes in to feed and she's not as colorful. I had the feeder out for over a week. While I was doing dishes one morning there he was. He gets skiddish and runs away if I'm too close. It's not like that lady that was in the flight path and hovered all over her. Wow that must have been a treat. Anyway, I'm glad they're here and will continue to make the succulent syrup they go after. They don't run if my dogs are out though. I'll try to put some vaseline on the line that holds the feeder. Someone said that should keep the ants away. One thing I noticed about hummingbirds, and that is, they keep me busy watching. I never get tired of it. I'll try to buy more succulent flowers this year too.

What does the Resurrection mean to you?

Whatever your affiliation and whatever path you have chosen in your life you must at least look at the Resurrection. As a child I spent many hours within the stainglass cathedral of a Lutheran church. I saw slides of pictures of Jesus healing people, walking on water, delivering many from their sicknesses. The resurrection of Jesus is the only reason there is the Christian Faith. Without it we have nothing. If Jesus hadn't been raised we would have no hope. We would all be destined to die and go to hell. Hell was never made for man but for the devil. It is faith that saves us. It takes faith to believe. When you have no faith then death is the only alternative. Other religions only give you doctrines, laws, a system to try to make you better but they don't offer a savior. As I grew up, I failed to relate to those early years going to church. I thought I was a Christian. I wasn't told that I needed to receive or accept Jesus into my heart. But after coming to Jesus at the ag...

Paintings by Steven, my son

Image
This is a painting that my son Steven did of his Navajo grandfather who also was a code talker during W.W.II. Steven has since painted his brother Daniel which he gave to him not too long ago. Grandpa lost his mate Dorothy of over 50 years of marriage last year. He lives alone in a desolate area north of Holbrook, Arizona. His family has always been there for him as he has been for his kids. I wished Steven had done one of his grandmother too. She was a very kind woman with a big heart for kids. Their children are all over the country but most live in Arizona. Several are in the ministry and several are teachers. Earlier in their lives Grandpa and his wife Dorothy lived near Whitecone Trading Post and built a church north of there. The kids went to Holbrook as they ministered to the Navajo people in that area for several years. Another picture that my son painted is one of his own hands holding a paintbrush and the other side of the panel are his grandpa's hands holding the Bible...

It's a New Year

"Get rid of leaven in 2007" is my motto for this year. This refers to sin. Get rid of whatever is hindering you this year. Do those things that you wanted to last year. Make those resolutions and with the Lord's help accomplish whatever He said to do and don't put it off. My resolutions....1)Bible study and reading...through online studies 2) Get my songs done meaning get them recorded and printed out. 3) Get the family lineage done for my kids 4) Get all the photos downloaded on CD's and get them printed and put into albums. Of course there's more with drama and worship but for now that's on the agenda.

The Denver Blizzard 2006

Image
The people in Denver must be having it really hard. People are stranded at the airport. The U.S. Post Office is closed. But it sure looks beautiful with two feet of snow. This reminds me of the Denver Blizzard of 1982. My husband Richard, my four sons and myself wanted to stay with my mom for Christmas but we found ourselves in Raton, NM with a ground blizzard, where the wind was whipping up around 50 to 60 mi/hr. The van died on the freeway and we need to find something with alcohol in it. We found some aftershave, Turbo and Hawk, in our bags. Richard went out and we tied him to the front of the car so he wouldn't blow away while he poured the aftershave into the carburator. The van started up and we headed for the nearest offramp. We saw a motel sign lit up and this was in the middle of the day. We signed in and found that there was no heat. Our kids ranged in ages of 4 -12 and we had to call friends that lived in Raton. We stayed at the friends where there was plenty of warmpth...

Christmas, Christmas

Image
It's beginning to look like Christmas..Already been to a Ladies Fast where we study Scriptures and write a letter to God with what we want to see before next year..mostly relationships and salvation for my loved ones. Hoping to go to Phoenix for Christmas. There won't be snow on the ground but the weather should be great. Palm trees, swimming pools, farming, warm weather and tons of malls will be what I will look forward to there. At home in Vanderwagen it's been 5 degrees waking up in the morning. We've had no hot water for three weeks and hoping to get the part before too long. There are two cats and two dogs that can all rest in the same room around the wood stove. There is a sense of change in the air..for me? for my family? I don't know yet but I'm anticipating something good. "Christmas, Christmas, hear the angels sing" from one of my own songs is looking forward to the time when Jesus will return. "Oh, the joy of seeing our Lord with the ...

IT'S SNOWING!!!

Image
It is finally snowing. Two weeks ago we were in Phoenix where my son Matt and his lady Lesli were married and the temperature was around 65. Now we are finally getting a much needed snow. The roads were slippery this morning and we passed one accident, a fender bender. The schools were closed and I am working. It took almost an hour to get to work which usually takes twenty minutes. With the holidays around the corner there is still plenty of preparing to do. I love to bake cookies and decorate the house. I have to get started doing that but with drama practice for Christmas that's going to have to wait. I wrote the play for Christmas this year and it's called "The Reason for the Season" with five scenes. I hope I can add pictures later. I can't use my computer at home just yet since the service is down. I can't wait to get higher speed. I love this time of year even though the temperatures dip down to single digits.

Getting Ready for the Holidays

It's tough not having service for my computer. I end up doing all my e-mailing at work. I've been very busy at church. We just finished our "Hallelujah" party, or Halloween with over 20 games, free dinner, lots of candy, door prizes, a skit from our drama team at church. The next thing on the agenda is a service to recognize Israel. I got the program together with songs I learned at a church in Page, Arizona. The kids will be doing a dance to Hinei Ma Tov and we'll have several Jewish songs and prayers said. Then we will be getting ready for the Christmas program...This year I wrote the program called "The Reason for the Season". I hope to get some pictures taken and can download them later. There will be plenty of Christmas songs.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE

Image
It's been a month since I last entered a blog. Been very busy getting my son to Phoenix and Flagstaff to take care of business but my son Steven had a visit in Maine. He is still there at the Skowhagen School of Painting. Check out his blog at www.flyingsaguaro.blogspot.com . He's been so busy that he can't put blogs in either. Anyway, after all this running around my son Daniel has finally caught three squirrels living under our mobile home. A lady at work loaned me the trap and with peanut butter spread on a styrofoam plate with sprinkles of rice cakes they all went for it. We took them about five or six miles away to let them out. We still have one more, I think, to catch. They are just trouble. We lost two phone lines from two bedrooms and now we have one. I hope we get the other one. I found a great place for your photos too at www.photographycorner.com where you can submit any photo in contests they offer. It has been an interesting summer. I have so many photos I...

I WISH I WAS HERE AGAIN!!!

Image
I lived at Lake Powell for ten years and miss the water skiing, the camping and the great garden with beautiful roses. My boys all learned to swim here. We had a cabin cruiser and would take half a day to get to Rainbow Bridge. This was a great place to raise a family. My boys remember this wonderful fishing, swimming and camping place. Check out the www.wayneswords.com for more information and pictures. You can't beat this place for fun activities through the summer. I left many friends here to move to Phoenix.
